Italian media outlet Calciomercato have reported that Lucas Moura is a centre of attraction for Liverpool, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid. The three European big names are all ready to compete for the PSG winger in the coming transfer window.
Lucas’ time with PSG has not been an easy ride, starting at the bottom of the rank before breaking forth into the first team and becoming indispensable at the Parc des Princes. The best time of his career came this season with the Les Parisiens, picking up 16 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances in all competition.
However, the signing of Julian Draxler has put Lucas in a corner, reducing his playing time, with starts not come as well as the beginning of the season. As a result of this, it is believed that the 24-year old is looking out for more action and could be moving out in the summer, when there will be plenty of suitors eager to take him off the market.
Arsenal were one of the first clubs to indicate their interest in Lucas, as they were hoping he could help take up want-away attacker Alexis Sanchez’s role. However, arsenal have not followed up on their interest, but in their stead, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Atletico have reared up and shown they are ready to go all out to sign him in the summer.
Liverpool have a dire need of attackers in their squad, as Jurgen Klopp have limited options for three positions.
With Sturridge set for an exit this summer, the Liverpool boss must sign a quality attacker to strengthen the squad against the forthcoming challenges next season. Lucas’ addition to the squad would go a long way to improve the squad’s attack.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, have been a devotee of Lucas, having tried all their possible best to sign him in 2013, before PSG swooped him off for €40 million. However, with money no longer an issue for the Nerazzurri, they are ready to make a move for him in the summer.
Inter’s Chinese owners, the Suning Group are ready to give all it takes to take the club back to the top of Italian and European football next season and are willing to splash the funds to bring players that can help them achieve their aim to the club. Lucas has been hand-picked as a possible solution to their failing attack.
Atletico, too could be out for an attacker in the summer, as Yannick Carrasco and Kevin Gameiro have been heavily linked with a move away from the club. Antoine Griezmann is a target for most club as well and thus, Lucas is being considered as a long term solution.
The Brazilian is still contracted to PSG for another two years and he could come with a high price tag. But with the player looking for a greener pasture, it will be interesting to watch how the competition unfolds among the clubs vying for his signature in the summer.
