Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing AC Milan attacker Suso, according to Calciomercato despite having bid rejected for the Spaniard last summer.
The Italian outlet claims that Tottenham scouts are currently tracking the 23-year-old and are interested in signing the left-footed sensation.
It is understood that the North London side had a £20.5million bid rejected in the summer for the winger from Italian side Milan as they view him as a top player in their squad.
The report adds that Suso does have a release clause of between £35million-£45million and that Milan would be forced to sell their star man if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.
The San Siro outfits are already struggling in Serie A despite a busy summer of spending and sit 11th in the league table.
Suso is a former Premier League side Liverpool flop and struggled to make an impact at Anfield, but has seen his stock risen since his move away from the Reds.
The attacker usually plays on the right wing where he can make use of his stronger foot, but can be deployed anywhere across the front-line.
Suso has become a superb player at San Siro and is someone that could be a key factor for Tottenham. He is a dazzling attacker, a brilliant dribbler and could make a real impact if he returned to English football.
Tottenham’s any major weakness is the lack of width in their squad and the Milan ace could certainly compete for a spot in Mauricio Pochettino‘s starting XI.
Tottenham have shown in the past that they are interested on wide man Suso and are continuing their interest despite a failed bid in the summer.
Suso seems destined to stay at the San Siro for at least one more season, but it would be no surprise to see Spurs Pochettino sign him in the future.
He already has four goals and four assists in 14 games for Milan this season, meaning they Serie A side would be unlikely to let him go in January.
However, Tottenham have been given slight by the suggestion that Milan would have to sell if they miss out on Champions League football, something that seems feasible given the competitive nature of Serie A this season.
