Rangers has finally completed the signing of Graham Dorrans and the midfielder seems absolutely delighted to be joining the team he supported as a young boy.
Dorrans has been playing in England since 2008 with both West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City, after coming through the ranks as a youngster at Livingston.
But the 30-year-old’s now back at Ibrox, where used to visit every second weekend as a supporter – only this time he’ll be pulling on his club’s iconic blue jersey for real after putting agreeing to a three-year deal.
The club announced Dorrans’ arrival earlier today, and speaking via the Rangers website, he sounds as though he couldn’t be happier.
He said: “I want to come in and help the youngsters and I like to think I can bring a bit of experience having played at a high level for the last 10 years now.
“I am confident we have a good enough squad to compete. Hopefully I can come in and help the team, help the young boys develop and help the club get back to where it belongs.
“The manager has been great too. I will play where he wants me to play; I am just excited to come in here.
“I have been chatting to him for the last week or so, and he has been the driving force behind the move. I am looking forward to coming in and working with him.
“I can’t wait to start; it is something I have always dreamed of since I was a kid so I am looking forward to getting into training and getting the boots on. Once that day comes to run out at Ibrox it will be great.
“There are some big names coming in and we’ll get four weeks behind us now training, hopefully we’ll gel quickly and be ready for the first game.”
Dorrans becomes manager Pedro Caixinha’s ninth summer signing, and he looks set to make his competitive debut on the opening day of the new Premiership season, when the Gers travel to face Motherwell on August 5.
But how big a signing could this turn out to be for Rangers, and their aims next season?
