According to report from The Scottish Sun, Ross McCrorie looks set to miss Rangers’ clash with Celtic on March 11.
The 19-year-old centre-back’s foot injury was originally, according to the Scottish tabloid, meant to only rule him out until the end of February, but the tabloid’s latest report suggested that Rangers are set to miss McCrorie for another four weeks.
The defender will continued to be monitored and treated by the club’s medical team as they aim to get him back on his feet as soon as possible.
He hasn’t played for Rangers since January, after getting injured in the Gers game against Ross County while at the Light Blues’ Florida training camp.
McCrorie has registered 19 appearances ahead of being ruled out and had nailed a regular place in Rangers’ first-team after impressive performances.
The news will come as a huge blow to Graeme Murty, who without any doubt would like the option of playing the defender against Celtic, as the defender had put in impressive performances earlier in the season. He may only be 19-years-old but his performances to Rangers side so far this season suggested that he could be vital to Rangers’ success and for their upcoming fixture against Celtic. While the Light Blues currently sit nine points behind the Hoops, victory at Ibrox on March 11 could leave the door open for a last minute bid for the Scottish Premier League title.
