Chelsea will want to continue in the same way of late and will look to earn all three points against former champions Leicester City who have found it tough in their opening three fixtures.
The clash between the former and the present Premier League champions should be a high paced and high scoring.
Football Weeks has highlighted three key battles that will determine the scoreline as the Foxes welcome Chelsea at King Power Stadium on Saturday…..
1. Jamie Vardy vs David Luiz
Jamie Vardy seems to be in his best form this season. The England striker caused Arsenal defence so many different problems on the opening day and has also showed same when his side faced Brighton and Manchester United.
Although David Luiz has been a top centre-back for the Blues since his return from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Luiz has been hidden between two very capable centre backs in Cahill and Azpilicueta. Vardy take chances on the Brazilian’s untrustworthiness at the back and alongside new boy Antonio Rudiger Chelsea may find that Vardy will cause significant danger.
Jamie Vardy vs David Luiz will be an interesting clash to watch on Saturday as it will proved to be a tough battle between the two world reknown talents.
2. Cesc Fabregas vs Wilfred Ndidi
Wilfred Ndidi will have a large role to play for William Shakespeare side this weekend due to the majority of the game likely to be played inside the Foxes half. The Nigerian international’s job is to protect the back four by taking down Cesc Fabregas in order to prevent perfectly calculated through balls which could cause the Leicester defence major problems.
The 20-year-old has played well this season thus far, however will need to play to an even greater standard to cope with Fabregas’ quality on the ball – which he has already shown this season.
It should be a fascinating contest if both Fabregas and Ndidi are form. The former Arsenal Barcelona midfielder will look to play at the top of his best at the King Power Stadium and will look to link up with the likes of Willian and Morata to break down the Foxes defence which has shown signs of weakness thus far this campaign.
3. Riyad Mahrez vs Antonio Rudiger
Alike his teammate – Jamie Vardy – Riyad Mahrez is another Leicester player who looks to be in red hot form. The Algerian winger has already amassed 3 cut chances for the Foxes this season and will look to cause the Blues’ new signing, Antonio Rudger, all sort of difficulties in this fixture.
Mahrez will use all his skills and abilities to get the better of the former Roma defender who is yet to get used to the Premier League and looks uncomfortable on the left-hand side of a back three.
Riyad Mahrez v Antonio Rudiger will be a huge occasion, Rudiger will want to please the Blues fans and his boss and prove he is worthy of a starting spot and Mahrez will want to get back on side with the Leicester faithful after his deadline day antics.
