Liverpool has a shot at a top-four finish and they would need to prepare their squad for the Champions League next season. Jurgen Klopp would be looking to reinforce the squad by making new additions to the team and words on the grapevine has it that Real Madrid duo Marco Asensio and James Rodriguez would be moving to Anfield this summer. It seems Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will be doing a major overhaul at the Bernabue and this might see him release the duo for the right price. The duo could be costing a total of £92m and with Liverpool having a large purse, the only question to ask if these players will be instrumental in moving the club forward.
Both players have been sidelined for most of this season but they produced good result in the little opportunity they got to play. The Colombia attacker has found the net 9 times and set up 12 more in 23 appearances across all competition this term while the Spanish Midfielder has been more of a surprise this season, netting 8 goals in just 11 appearances for the La Liga side. Both players can be deployed to various positions and can be the solution to a number of issues at Anfield.
The 21-year old Ansesio can play in the middle of the park and he would make a positive impact on the likes Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum if he joins them as part of the midfield three while also providing cover for the front three. He can also be deployed to the flanks and he is capable of creating chances for his teammates. His dribbling abilities will no doubt make a good impression on Liverpool.
Rodrigeuz, o the other hand, who skips for the Colombia national team is one of the best in the game presently. He hopes to achieve his wish to play more consistently with a move out of the club next season in the summer. He takes up the number 10 role like a second home and he can also play anywhere in the central park. Rodriguez can become a consistent player in Liverpool’s midfield.
He possesses great dribbling skill, he is renowned for his pace, technical skills, vision, and his ability to create chances for team-mates as an advanced playmaker. He is also an accurate free kick taker, and a goal threat from anywhere on the pitch and he can turn out to be the player with the highest quality on Liverpool’s list.
Though the duo will come at a price higher than £90m this summer, they are one of the most versatile players in the market and if Klopp manages to convince them on a move to Anfield, worrying about his midfield and attack will be a thing of the past. Asensio and Rodriguez, at 21 and 25 respectively, still has a long career and have a lot on the table to offer.
