Jose Mourinho could be right after all. The Man United boss made the assertion few weeks back when Arsenal forced his side to a 1-1, that the club is the unluckiest in the Premier League due to their unimpressive results despite dominating games but failing to kill it off.

Not that their Europa League campaign has been that great, but they have been able to get some decent results, likewise in the EFL Cup. But in the Premier League they have scored only once in three of their last four matches.

Coming on the back of a 4-0 win against Feyernood in the Europa League and 4-1 drubbing of West Ham with only another disappointing 1-1against the Hammers in the league sandwiched between them, it was believed United are starting to grind out results. But another frustrating 1-1 draw at Goodison park seems to confirm Mourinho judgement.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had put United ahead with his sixth goal in five games before substitute Maroune Fellaini conceded a late penalty against his former club, denying the Reds the three points.

United have now drawn six and won just one of their last eight games in the Premier League. They have just 21 points from 14 matches, their worst in the Premier League. They are 13 points off leader Chelsea, nine points off the top four and  six pints below Tottenham who are in the fifth position.

Their title bid seems to have been blown off and finishing in the top four is even no more realistic and a return to the Champions League next season looks slim.
