The former England international is one of the most iconic figures in the Red’s history – as a player Steven notched up 710 appearances across all competitions and has his former side to win an array of trophies, including the Champions League.
Gerrard, recently, called time on his playing career and acknowledges that he will strive hard and work his way up through the ranks in pursuit of becoming Liverpool’s manager in the future.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, he said, “[To manage Liverpool] is the dream. But I realize where I am, I’m at the bottom of the ladder and there is a long way to go.”
Given the vast experience Gerrard amassed during his playing football career, he will certainly be able to pass on some invaluable advice to Liverpool’s academy prospects.
Gerrard will officially commence his coaching spell with Liverpool next month and it will be intriguing to see how he fares.
The former midfielder won’t have been pleased with how Liverpool’s first-team got on today, with Jurgen Klopp’s side being beaten 3-2 by Swansea City.
