While Lionel Messi had a rare off-day as Ligue 1 holders Paris Saint-Germain banjaxed to a 4-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday, the French club’s director of football Patrick Kluivert admit he would love to land the Barca talisman.

Kluiver had refused to rule out the possibility of the Argentine forward playing for the French champions.

However, the Barcelona’s legend contract does not expire but the Barca No. 10 future at Camp Nou is far from being certain.

With the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s team-mates Luis Suarez and Neymar have agreed to a new deal, the Argentina forward is no closer to renewing his contract with the La Liga titleholders.

And Kluivert added fuel to the fire after PSG routed Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday.

“Messi? Never say never,” Kluivert told reporters post-match in Paris.

“Every team wants a player like Messi.”

Messi and Co. struggled as PSG left Barcelona on the verge of elimination.

The 29-year-old has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season.
