Arsenal snubbed striker Lucas Perez could be on his way out of the Emirates after just one season to go in search of a regular football, according to Goal.

The former Deportivo La Coruna forward has hardly had a look-in for the Gunners this campaign since his reported £17.1m
move from the La Liga side last summer, having spent most of his time either on the bench or on the treatment table.

Lucas registered his debut for new side in the Gunners 2-1 Premier League home victory against Southampton on 10 September, which falls on his birthday and that of his teammate Laurent Koscileny, whom he assisted for his team’s equaliser.

That has been the situation since Alexis Sanchez position has been changed from the wing to a central striking role where he has flourished, which has in-turn turned French international Olivier Giroud to half-time sub [go-to back-up striker], effectively rendering the Spaniard a spare part.

Lucas, 28, was left out of the Gunners squad altogether for the trip to the Allianz Arena to face German side Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday – in which Arsenal were humiliated 5-1.

It was a puzzled omission by the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who witnessed the 28-year-old brilliant hat-trick when his side faced Basel in the final game of the group stages.

Clearly, it’s understandable that Lucas is fed up with life at Arsenal and may consider facing the exit door at the end of the season in order to get back to where he was while with The Branquiazuis; playing regularly and firing in goals.

The Spanish international would also be feeling uncertain about why he hasn’t been given a chance of a run with Arsenal given his relatively brilliant cameo appearances which have yielded him eight goals and a minutes-per-goal ratio of one every 133 minutes.

Lucas has apparently set his sights on making the Spain squad for the World Cup in Russia in 2018 and doesn’t believe his current situation will be beneficial to him in achieving that goal.
