Pogba agrees five-year deal worth £10.8m-a-year ahead of proposed Man Utd move

General Football News

The 2016 summer transfer window is now open for business, so Football Weeks will bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip in and around the globe.

Juventus star Paul Pogba has agreed personal terms with Manchester United over a five-year deal worth £10.8m per year with the United ahead of a potential world record move to the Old Trafford, according the Daily Star who are citing reports from Spanish news outlet, Marca.

Manchester United new boss Jose Mourinho has already splashed out cash on three new signings this summer; with  Eric Baily, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Zlantan Ibrahimovic all arriving in recent weeks as he looks forward to overhaul the Red Devils squad left behind by former boss Louis van Gaal.

According to reports from Mirror, United are determined to make a real statement of intent this summer and are prepared to break the world record with a bid of at least £100m to bring in the French international to the Old Trafford.

Rumours have been ongoing for some time, but it appears that the Red Devils’ potential deal has taken a huge step towards completion, according to these reports from the Daily Star.

Meanwhile, reports from Spanish news outlets suggest that the Frenchman has informed his agent, Mino Raiola, that he wants to leave Juventus for Manchester United after Real Madrid seemingly dropped out of the race due to being unable to match the huge figures the Red Devils are prepared to pay.

The Frenchman’s agent has already done a lot of business with the Premier League giants as he also represents the club new signings – Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan. Now the well-known football agent is on the verge of concluding his most lucrative deal if Pogba does indeed end up joining United.

Reports recently suggested that Raiola owns 20% of the midfielder’s rights, meaning that if the deal for the 23-year-old is genuinely worth £100m, then the Italian-born Dutch football agent commission is due a £20m cut.

Anyway, we’ll have to wait and see how things will transpire over the coming days. However, the Red Devils signing Pogba would be really worth it as he’s developed in to one of the best midfielders in the world since he left Manchester United four years ago.

Pogba was sold by the Old Trafford club in 2012 after he refused to sign a new contract following a bust-up with the then United boss Sir Alex Ferguson over his lack of progress at the club, but the Frenchman could now be set to return to the club as the world’s most expensive player.
