Manchester City FC news: Sergio Aguero Could Leave City In The Summer

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Premier League, Tottenham Hotspurs

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was relegated to the bench in their last two games in favour of new boy Gabriel Jesus and could be on his way out of the club if things remain the same.

Gabriel has been a revelation since his arrival, scoring three goals in the two matches he has featured in so far and the 19-year-old Brazilian kid seems to have succeeded in pushing Aguero out of the first team.

Except for suspensions and injuries it is strange to see Aguero sitting out games at City since he arrived at the club six years ago or even in his professional career.

When asked about his situations after the Swansea match on Sunday, the Argentinean said “I have to help the team as much as I can in these three months”. But what happens after those three months? Does that mean he will be out of the club at the end of the season?

It beats one’s imagination that the club main striker is being dethroned by a teenager. Although Aguero performances this season has not really been impressive enough.

His 11 goals in 18 games notwithstanding, his conversion rate is as low as 15% and his pass accuracy and defensive contributions are at the bottom of the ladder for City outfielders. He has also missed goals an in-form Aguero would have buried.

The truth of the matter is that there is no striker who doesn’t experience goal-drought but our familiarity with his consistency and scoring rate has made his predicament more pronounced than expected.

And it is too early to start thinking that the striker has lost his magical touch. Of course the striker would walk into any team starting eleven.

Pep Guardiola seems to be contended with the services of his current front three of Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling and that could be a signal that Aguero may be off in the summer.

The striker doesn’t seem happy at the moment. He is only28 and one of the best strikers in the world so he can’t be short of good offers.
