Liverpool Should Sign Celtic Hitman

Celtic F.C., Liverpool Comments Off 22

It will be of necessity for Liverpool to reinforce their attack when the transfer window opens in January. Though there are other areas of the team that need to be bolstered, the attack calls for utmost urgency as they will be faced with limited options upfront in the coming weeks.

With Saido Mane soon to depart for Africa Cup of Nations to represent Senegal and both Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge out injured, the Reds are left with only Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi to spear head the attack. Coutinho is out till next year while Sturridge future at the club remains in doubt. It is important Jurgen Klopp bolster that area to increase their chances of winning the league title.

The Merseyside have been linked with Celtic striker Moussa Dembele. According to reports in the Scottish media Klopp is eyeing the 20-year-old. An initial fee in the region of £10 million with adds-on of £10 million are reportedly on the cards to sign the Hoops hitman. The deal would see him earn a quadruple of his current contract of £15,000 a week salary.

Dembele has been a sensation for the Scottish club since joining them from Fulham this summer. His impressive performance has earned him 17 goals and three assists in 27 games across all competitions this season.

He would represent a good buy for Liverpool and fit well into their attacking flow. He is strong on the ball and can drive at defenders.

Celtic may be reluctant to part with their prized asset and the forward has also reiterated his desire to remain at the club till next summer with the condition that he would only move to a club where he is guaranteed regular playing time.

Klopp is ready to tempt him with that after some positive feedbacks from the Reds scouts sent to watch him play on five occasions.

Celtic are aware they cannot keep him beyond next summer but Klopp is already targeting a winter transfer for him.
