After being unceremoniously dismissed from his job as Leicester City boss just a few months after he led the Foxes to claim their first ever Premier League title, Claudio Ranieri is said to be out looking for a managerial post in the English top tier.
The Telegraph reported that the Italian is looking hopefully at the vacant manager’s seat at Selhurst park, with Sam Allardyce shockingly resigning from the post at the end of a season in which he helped Crystal Palace avoid relegation.
French side FC Nantes are ready to offer the Italian an opportunity to replace Portuguese coach Sergio Conceicao as the head coach at Stade de la Beaujoire next season, but Ranieri is holding out for a move back to England.
St. Etienne and Nice, with Lucien Favre still at the helm of affairs at the latter, are also considering Ranieri for a move to become their respective new managers.
The charismatic tactician would prefer to coach an European club, with his extraordinary ability to lead a club to success getting him attention from China and Turkey, leaving the wide open to any club willing to offer him the much coveted job and a return to English soils.
Employing the services of a new manager before the commencement of the 2017-18 season will be crucial for the Eagles, and it is a common knowledge that the South Londoers have recently held talks with both Frank De Boer – formally of Inter – andArgentinian Mauricio Pellegrino, who led Alaves to the Copa del Rey final last season.
Palace may also be in pursuit of Burnley’s Sean Dyche to take over the reins from Big Sam, although Dyche is still contracted at Turf Moor.
Considering all available options, it is quite obvious that Ranieri is very good in helping out struggling Premier League team to become one of the best in England, so if the Selhurst park people are looking for a coach that can turn their fortune around, all they need to do is look towards the direction of the Tinker Man.
