The heel injury banjaxed by Everton striker Sandro Ramirez has raise the need for a new striker at Goodison Park and Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen is reportedly available.
Ramirez, 21, is now set to be out of action for the Toffees in the upcoming Thursday night’s Europa League clash against Hajduk Split and remains a doubt for Sunday’s huge Premier League clash against reigning Premier League champions Chelsea.
It leaves just Ronald Koeman’s side with club icon Wayne Rooney as the club’s only choice up front, with the likes of Dom Clavert-Lewin and Kevin Mirallas preferred out wide.
A new striker is needed at the Goodison Park, and Tottenham’s Janseen could be the man to fit the bill with only a week left to go in the summer transfer window.
The London Evening Standard claim that the 22-year-old Holland international Janssen is available to leave the Spurs before the end of the summer transfer window, after struggling last season.
The ex-Az Alkmaar striker failed to prove his transfer fee of £17million scoring only six goals in 38 league and cup appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s title contenders.
However, he started only 12 of those matches and was hardly ever going to impress playing under Harry Kane’s shadow who bagged another golden boot in the Premier League.
The striker needs regular first-team football if he is to show just how good he can be in England’s top tier, and with the Toffees lack of strikers, he would receive just that at Goodison Park.
With Rooney preferred to be played in a deeper role, he could be their replacement to Romelu Lukaku and finally show the kind of form that saw him net 32 goals for AZ in the 2015-16 season.
Known for his power and aerie prowess, the Dutch professional footballer is also more than capable of being agile and turning a defender as well as holding the ball up to bring other attackers into play.
The Sun claims West Brom are interested in both Vincent Janssen and defender Kevin Wimmer in a double swoop worth £30million, with both players valued at £15million apiece.
If Ronald Koeman can secure the signature of Vincent Janssen with West Bromwich Albion also said to be interested and willing to cough £15million, then he will be luring bargain goals to the Merseyside.
