Arsenal Possible 4-2-3-1 Lineup Against Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal, Premier League Comments Off 35

As Arsenal continue to win games this season after their lacklustre loss against Liverpool in the league opener in August, the Gunners will be at their best to beat Mauricio Porchettino’s Spurs who drew with them twice in the league last season.

Arsene Wenger will be without injured Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck, Chuba Akpom and Lucaz Perez who are all away as a result of a long term injury.

Also in doubt are the likes of Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal who all missed the Champions League week 4 game away at Bulgaria against Ludogorets , a game the Gunners came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

Wenger is expected to start with his favourite 4-2-3-1 with Petr Cech returning to action after missing the Champions League as a result of rotation. In defence Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal who both did not travel to Bulgaria due to knocks are expected to start on the wings although they are doubtful. In central defence , Laurent Koscielny is expected to be partnered by Shkodran Mustafi as the pair continue to strive in the central defence.

In the centre of the park the likes if Granit Xhaka and Francis Coquelin are expected to play in a double pivot. Xhaka is back after serving his three match suspension. Coquelin on his part has been ever present for the Gunners since the injury of Cazorla who has struggled with a heel problem.

In attack, Aaron Ramsey is ecpected to start on the left which is Theo Walcott’s position, leaving Alex Iwobi to continue playing on the right while Mesut Ozil stars in the centre of attack as a no.10 slightly behind Alexis Sanchez who was abysmal in the Champions League where he played on the right hand of attack instead of his favourite forward role.

Oliver Giroud, Mohammed El’Neny, Rob Holding, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla, Kieran Gibbs, Carl¬† Jenkinson and David Ospina are all expected to start on the bench as the Gunners chase Manchester City who are ahead on goal difference.
