While playing for his national team, Antoine Griezmann had bonded with compatriot Alexandre Lacazette and rumor have abounded that the two could be playing for the same club next season.
Speculations have been going round about Griezmann moving to Manchester United in the summer, but he has given rise to new talks of a possible strike partnership with Lacazette at Atletico Madrid.
The French forward has been pulling the strings of the media in recent weeks with his ambiguous comments in the press.
He revealed there were high chances he would be moving to the Old Trafford in the summer, before he then said he wants a club that can guarantee trophy win each season.
Griezmann has since taken back his words, while Atletico insisted the Frenchman is not for sale, and his close raport with a player that has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish Capital has given the suggestion he will snub any offer that comes his way more credit.
Lacazette, has also expressed a wish to move out of Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in search of more trophies
He has greatly impressed in his four season at Lyon, racking up 113 goals – including a personal best haul of 37 in the 2016-17 season.
The 26-year-old have been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in time past with top clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal looking to sign him, but now he is more open to a move to Atletico and he recently claimed that Griezmann have been trying to lure him there.
Should Atletico be able to pair Lacazette and Griezmann on the pitch in the 2017-18 campaign, then they would be a major threat to the opposition, making their first season at their new arena an unforgettable one.
However, it is highly unlikely that the rumors surrounding Griezman would go away anytime soon, with Jose Mourinho in search of quality players to add more depth to his squad.
